The style of the yoga that I teach is a remedial, restorative blend of yoga, often described as Yin Yoga, but with roots in the various styles I have had experienced, such as Hatha, Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga. Yin or restorative yoga is very suitable for beginners. It is also beneficial for intermediate levels looking for a Yin Yoga style. Having a background as a naturopath, kinesiologist and reiki practitioner, I bring these influences into my yoga classes so as to create a holistic therapeutic session.
The aim of the yoga practice is to promote flexibility, balance, good breathing, greater strength and also to de-stress. A good yoga practice provides more than only physical benefits. It brings balance to the whole body, including emotional well-being. So this is why I call it Stressfree Yoga!
Mats, blankets, blocks, and straps are provided, but I do suggest you have your own mat and bolster for better hygiene purposes. Other workshops are also on the menu in the yoga room, including reiki, nutrition, teen-times, managing menopause, and many other workshops on nutrition and healthy living.
